Claudia Madrazo
 
Grew up in a family of educators, and has been interested in knowing and learning since her childhood. Her need to explore and discover led her to art and to its potential as a path of personal and social transformation.

In 1992 she founded, and has directed since then, La Vaca Independiente, an organization dedicated to integrating art into daily life. She created the DIA program (Development of Intelligence through Art), into which 25,000 teachers have been incorporated and from which more than 500,000 students have benefited. Today it focuses on educational innovation and the promotion of human development through art.

She is the author of nine books and several essays and articles.

She participates in several Mexican non-profit organizations in the areas of art, education, social development and ecology. She seats on the board of: Museo del Barrio in New York; Cornell Lab of Ornithology, Alliance for a new humanity.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in Communications from the Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico City and a MA degree in Museums and Galleries Studies from Essex University in the United Kingdom.
