Shadows and silence. With a fine and penetrating gaze, Omar Gámez breaks open
the surface of spaces designed for casual encounters between homosexual men
in Mexico City. For almost two years he frequented these darkrooms, photographing
them with a strategy that combined anonymity and ambiguity. The Dark Book
contains 28 black-and-white photographs that function as the perfect metaphor
for the equation of predator and prey that determines the dynamics between biological
systems and their behavior in certain contexts. The photographic project was conceived from the beginning to appear in book form.
