In this book the author draws on poetic experience as an account of what has been lived. An itinerary that starts in childhood to construct memory as the images of an interior landscape of rootedness and belonging. A poetics constructed of subjective reflection opens up a fragmented vision which must be interpreted by the reader: streets, walls, garden, interior patio are universalized in this process of a traveler’s mapping. This book reflects the vision of a generation whose political, educational, and social commitment was fundamental in Mexico, especially in the academic world, where the classroom was used in masterly fashion to reflect on and guide the “meaning of life.”
