Lampyro is a specialized editorial project by Blok Design and RM which produces premium-quality original book for young children (and not so young).
Lampyro’s publishing program invites renowned contemporary artists of international repute to show us their interpretation of transforming the ordinary into the extra-ordinary. We believe that by guiding children’s inherent curiosity through artists’ eyes, unconventional
means of perception become familiar. This freedom to believe becomes a fundamental element of their world view, helping to shape the person they become.
Artist Collaborators are visual artists, architects, composers, filmmakers and more, such as Francis Alÿs, Liam Gillick, Herzog y de Meuron, Robert Staedler, Melanie Smith, Marcel Dzama, Pipilotti Rist, Sanaa among many others that are now an integral part of this project.
Each of whom is carefully selected by Art Curators (with a critical knowledge of established and emerging talent) for their passion to challenge conventions and explore the ultimate breadth of their creativity in the context of books for children. Our mission is to playfully
capture the imaginative power of artists’ perception in the form of books; to allow readers the liberty of seeing anew through artists eyes; to inspire lifelong curiosity; to create the context to imagine the world not just as it is, but as it could be; and to nourish and grow the spirit of freedom that is innate in every child. |
